We know this is the boring bit, but it’s essential that you’re aware of what information you should retain and how long you should do so for.
- In accordance with the Centre Agreement, we ask all centres to retain learner details, assessment, and quality assurance decisions for a period of 3 years.
- Some regulatory bodies and sector skills councils have specific requirements.
- Some funding providers may also require your centre to operate extended retention periods.
- For internally assessed qualifications, all learner work must be retained until a successful EQS review has been completed.
- Once a successful review has been undertaken, the learners’ work may be returned to them. But all other records of the learner, the assessment and IQA decisions must be retained, as mentioned above.
- Evidence can be stored in paper-based or electronic formats – either way, it must always be legible and easy to locate/reference.
- For electronic work, please consider clear naming conventions so the contents of files are easy to establish.
